L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti Teams Up With Guy Fieri To Rename Skid Row, "Flavortown"

LOS ANGELES — Four Fieri restaurants, each named after a different spicy pepper, will anchor four planned luxury condominium buildings, selling items like a Spicy Bacon Mac & Cheeseburger and Smoked Paprika Pork Gelato. "It's time to spice up the neighborhood," says Fieri, 53, "Downtown L.A. is where foodies go when they want to people watch." The four new buildings will bring the tally up to 500 new luxury condominiums built under Mayor Garcetti's leadership. "We're confident the units won't sit empty for years like the others," the mayor added, "Guy's immense popularity will drive the people here in droves, we are also commissioning a mural of Guy to give instagrammers a new selfie destination."
